A Reel-y Good Time

Ty's friend Diego had his birthday party at Shardane Fishery. They invited Joey Monteleone from "Tennessee's Wild Side" to teach the kids some basics. The kids had a blast. Maggie was the first one to catch a fish!

Maggie's 1st Field Trip

Maggie's class went to Rabbit Foot Farm. Maggie was really excited to go on her first field trip. We had a good time. She fed the goats, pet a chicken, climbed on the giant straw spider, got lost in the hay maze, rode on a very long hayride and got to sit on the tractor.

Fall Festivus

Our dear friends The Honeybones hosted the 1st Annual Fall Festivus. It was a blast! The kids had so much fun, and the moms enjoyed getting to chat. There were so many classic games that I remember from my own childhood. Here are a few highlights:
Decorating Pumpkins

This is what Maggie looks like at EVERY party she goes to!

Bobbing for Doughnuts

Maggie later asked me how was she supposed to eat the doughnut without using her hands?!

Egg Race

Cookie Decorating

And, of course, cookie eating!

Roughing It Easy

Ty received a tent and air mattress from Grandma and Granddad for his birthday. He couldn't wait to go camping in the backyard with Jon. So when we got back from Fall Break, they decided to do it. Ty couldn't wait for it to get dark. I kept trying to stall him, since Jon would be going to bed VERY early that night. After enjoying some s'mores, the boys headed out to the tent.

The sleeping bag Ty is using is my Disney one from when I was his age...ancient! Anyway, the boys fell asleep easily. Jon was awoken a couple of hours later to a popping sound followed by giggling and running footsteps. He came inside to ask me if I heard it. We assume it was the neighbors' kids, but I made them come in, just to be safe. Ty woke up in our bed at 4:00 a little confused. We told him that Daddy couldn't sleep because of barking dogs. We didn't want to scare him for any future outings. We have decided to go camping as a family at Barfield Crescent Park. Stay tuned...

Pedal Pushin'

Maggie got a "big girl" bike when she was fully potty trained in June. I finally got some pictures of her riding. And don't worry, she wears her helmet when she's not getting her picture taken!

Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na...Batman!

So the day finally arrived. The day that Ty had been planning and anticipating for so long...The Batman birthday party. It was a gorgeous sunny day. A perfect day for a backyard party. The capes were sewn with care by Grandmar. The games were planned. Theme music downloaded. Cake and balloons picked up. Nothing was going to spoil this party. Nothing. The guests arrived and the fun began.

Big Sister - aka - Sarobot

We had a blast this weekend with Sarah Catherine in town. We went to Camino Real for dinner Friday night. Ty had an early morning soccer game on Saturday. So it was off to Waffle House for breakfast afterwards. Ty created a new nickname for Sarah Catherine...Sarobot. We went our for pizza last night and headed to the Avenue for some birthday shopping. We celebrated Sarah Catherine's birthday over breakfast Sunday morning. Jon and the kids made Friendship Bread together. We all enjoyed the gorgeous weather while the kids played ball and drew with chalk on the driveway.
