Back to Soccer

Ty's so excited that it's finally soccer season. His team is called the Flash. Here is a glimpse at their first practice. I must say, they look a lot more promising than the Panthers in Augusta last spring. I guess we will see if that holds true at their first game on Saturday. Stay tuned...

Back to School

It's that time of year again. The hottest month of the year is also the month we send our darling children back to school...Go figure! Maggie and Ty were very excited for their first day at St. Mark's.

Summer Fun

So it's been a while since I've update the blog...6 months to be exact. I'm not sure why I have neglected to do any posts, but I am going to try and do better.

We spent a week in Orlando at the end of May. The kids absolutely loved Walt Disney World and Seaworld. The very next week we moved from Augusta back to Murfreesboro.

Ty and Maggie went to Mr. Gareth again for swim lessons in June.

We celebrated Maggie's birthday with a Tinkerbell party in July.

I can't believe the kids go back to school on Monday. They are going to St. Mark's Preschool three mornings a week. They are really excited about going, but I am feeling a little sad about it. This summer has been so fun! The kids have loved seeing their friends again, going to the movies, swimming and playing at the Discovery Center.

Best Friends...Most of the Time

Ty and Maggie play together most of the time. They love to play superheroes and bad guys. Maggie likes to play Princess Saver or Robin when she's not being a bad guy. Ty loves being any of the superheroes like Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Green Lantern, etc. They have several places throughout the house that they use as bat caves, hideouts and clubhouses. Ty was trying to get Maggie to play in the "clubhouse," but Maggie wasn't interested. He was really upset about it and complaining, "Maggie made my feelings bad." Later on, when Ty wouldn't play with Maggie, she came crying to me saying, "Mommy, Ty is in a bad mood at me!" As I have been typing this post, they have built a fort in the office and are now in the clubhouse in the living room. Ty is Batman and Maggie is Robin. If I haven't said it before, they are so lucky to have each other, and I am very blessed to have both of them!

Chatty Cathy

Maggie loves to talk. She literally talks all day long. But when she really gets on a roll, she'll begin to stumble on her words and say, "I can't say the right words!" If she's talking to me, and I nod my head instead of speaking, she'll say, "Why you not talking?" Now I know what my mom was talking about! She said that I was quite the chatterbox as a child.

Tater Tots

When Jon gets home in the evening, he likes to change into clothes that are a little more comfortable to play with the kids. Ty went looking for him and found him in the closet. Ty said, "Pee ew! Your closet smells terrible! Something in your closet smells terrible!" Jon had just removed his shoes and lifted one of his feet close to Ty's nose. Ty shouted, "Pee ew! Your feet smell like tater tots!"

Growing Up

We were eating dinner one evening when my parents were here. Ty went to the bathroom off the kitchen and closed the door. We heard him shout, "I'm growing up! My pee is yellow!" This all goes back to the time he was in the bathroom with his dad. In his mind this is a sign of growing old, rather than a sign that he didn't drink enough fluids for the day!
